With their latest album, Automatic, VNV Nation continues to push forward with their music. Taking a big step forward and exceeding even their own expectations, the group has created what they may even say is their favorite work to date. VNV Nation has been touring far and wide since the album's fall release, playing extended live sets that include rarities and fan requests they've received over the years but don't often have a chance to play. VNV Nation also recently remixed Within Temptation's single "Sinêad," which the band then recorded special vocals for and turned into a radio single. Automatic follows a long discography the band has released since their humble beginnings in London in the early 1990s, when Ronan Harris moved there from Dublin, Ireland and began the project, later joined by Mark Jackson as the band's live drummer.

Standing for "Victory Not Vengeance," VNV Nation insists we should all strive to achieve in our own right, not stew in bitter regret. The inspiration for the project initially came as a clash of modern and classical European culture, an uneasy fusion of mythology and technology. Between electronic dance music, ballads, and classical inspired music, their music runs the gamut. While they've never advocated any ideology, their lyrics are informed by philosophy, literature, art, politics, and different forms of symbolism. While the band has created their own sound now, drawing from their range of influences, the project initially started as a collage of orchestral, electronic dance and soundtrack inspired pieces, and has evolved from there.
